Let's Make Sourdough with Hazel & Rosemary
You've been asking, and we're listening! Now offering sourdough classes! Learn how to make real sourdough using only flour, water and salt (no commercial yeast)!
This sourdough class will teach the basics from feeding and caring for sourdough starter, mixing dough, and baking it. It is for everyone. Of every skill level, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced baker looking to try something new! This class will be lead by Meredith Teller of Hazel & Rosemary Micro Bakery and Kitchen. Meredith began baking sourdough in early 2020 and it took off from there (after many previous attempts that resulted in some dense bricks of bread)!
This class is limited to 16 participants. The cost is $200 + HST, which must be prepaid to reserve a spot. This makes an excellent gift too!
Lunch is included. Come prepared for several hours of learning, conversation, and tasty food!
Here’s what the cost includes! Each student baker will receive:
A basic understanding of the principles of sourdough bread making with a unique hands-on learning experience
One baking kit consisting of:
2 Bannetons (proofing baskets)
A sharp tool for "scoring" bread before baking
1 bench scraper
1 loaf of freshly baked sourdough bread to take home
A jar of sourdough starter, along with instruction to properly care for her
2 loaves of bread in the new bannetons, to be cooked at home
Organic Ontario flour (2kg)
All classes are non-refundable. If you aren't able to attend, you can transfer your ticket. We are unable to re-sell your ticket. Please contact us with any questions.
